How Will You Know Until You Try It

There are many times throughout my life that I have done something that I thought I couldn’t achieve or do. I have conquered many fears that I thought were forever instilled in me. After facing many fears head-on by going into that fearful situation, I built up my bravery and that gave me the confidence to take on whatever fears come my way in my life. I have also tried out new things that I thought I wouldn’t like. After giving it a try, I started to like it and asked myself why I haven’t tried out this new thing earlier. That’s how I felt when I first tried out doing CrossFit in 2019. The first week was uncomfortable but I managed to stick it out and to this day I still enjoy doing CrossFit and learning to get better at it. The same can be said with trying out new foods from around the world. I used to have the mindset that foods that I’m unfamiliar with will taste bad to me and that resulted in me not trying out new foods. Now, I changed my mindset that I won’t know what something tastes like until I give it a try and come to my own conclusion. Most of the time, the food tasted good.

In relation to my university life, I always thought that I wasn’t academically smart because of the grades that I received back in high school. Now, I have been on the Dean’s List twice in one year and got invited to be apart of the Golden Key Honors Society. Ever since then, I have instilled the mindset that anything is possible in life and that you won’t know if you're good at something until you try it out for yourself.
