A Very Present Help.

By their own assessment, atheists are intellectually superior. But what do they do when their world closes in on them and they are faced with the darkness of death, tragedy, and loss?

Then it is that we need something more than our mind can supply. It is our faith, our religion, that fills this void.

Everyone has faith. Even the atheist. It is just in themselves.

Faith is only as reliable as the object in which you place it.

The Christian can be the most confident here.

Our faith is not academic or theoretical, but faith experienced. Faith in a living God.

Our God is our help in trouble. He is present with us. His choicest blessings and sweetest communications are given in these times.

It is in the darkness that we feel his closeness. In the darkness, we sense his everlasting arms around us. In the darkness, he wipes away the tears from our eyes and gives us hope.

He is never closer than when you think he is aloof and distant. He is never kinder than when you think he has shut off his lovingkindness. Even in his displeasure, his heart throbs with compassion for his children.

Do not doubt his love. Do not mistake his dealings with you. Do not listen to the enemy. Do not forget what he promised. Listen as he whispers that he is yours and you are his.

With every trouble comes grace. God is present, very present. He is your refuge. He is your strength.

When you pass through the fire he is with you. When the waters overflow he restrains them so that you are not overwhelmed. Though you should walk through the very shadow of the valley of death, do not fear. He is with you.

Believe when you cannot see.

Trust when you do not feel.

Wait when you do not know what to do.

All things are working for your ultimate good and he will be glorified in your life.

You need not look for him. I AM is right here.
