What We Can Learn From Dropbox CEO Drew Houston

Do you ever get asked about your favorite quote?

Or what your daily motivation is?

I am a 22-year old entrepreneur, and in interviews, but also during regular conversations, I often get asked about my motivation, which people inspire me, and how I keep going every day.

I didn’t really have a single answer that fit all the situations so far, but a few weeks ago, I discovered one.

My boyfriend is using that inspiration for more than one year. However, it took some time for me to realize that I also get motivated by it.

What I am talking about is a quote by Drew Houston, the CEO of Dropbox.

He says that all you need to know in life are three things:

On average, we have 30,000 days to live on this planet.

I love having this number in days in my mind.

For me, one thing is clear:

Thirty thousand days are enough to live a wonderful life.

Yet, it’s not enough to spend even a single day being unhappy and not living up to your full potential.

Imagine, how many days you already let end miserably because your ego was more prominent than yourself or because you’ve been angry, upset, or emotionally attached to a situation.

Honestly, 99,9% of the time, we waste our time if we can’t control our negative emotions.

If I have this number (30,000) in mind, I try to live my day to the fullest. I try to love, laugh and make the most of it.

In fact, that’s the only thing that makes sense. At the end of your life, you’ll look back at all the opportunities that you didn’t take and all your regrets.

Why even spend a single day regretting?

Why not living our life to the fullest every single day?!
