Explaining Data Science to my Granny

Data Science is complex to understand, more complex to explain. In this blog post, I share the amusing experience of explaining DS to my grandmother.

On a recent trip to my village, my grandmother asked me what I do to earn a living. Given her educational background (none) and her only language proficiency (local dialect of Hindi), it was tough for me to explain to her what Data Science is. English rules the world of Data Science and explaining to your 70 years old granny about Data Science in the local dialect of Hindi, which itself doesn’t have words for the field, is not a cakewalk.
