War has been normalized by how long it has existed

Many issues cause war between people, countries, communities, and other entities. I have noticed that many aspects contribute to war. These aspects range from personal issues, conflicts, political differences, cultural differences, and many other reasons. All these form the different types of war. As much as we try to live in peace, the war still exists and seems not to end. It seems that war has always moved from generation to generation. Despite the various parameters set to avoid conflicts that can result in war, these parameters get neglected and result in war. Punishments seem to be a normal practice; therefore, people are not afraid of being punished for their behavior.

During the colonial period, nations fought wars for power and resources. Those with powerful war arsenals managed to colonize and rule the weak ones. Many lost lives in the skirmish of land, resources, and power. You may think these actions in the 17th century could not have any effect today, but I suppose you might be wrong. The tragedy still lives on, and many people see their ancestors' suffering and feel the pain. The conflict in those days still happens today, where the people of color faced oppression from the whites. The war revolves around race and not personal values.

Based on the history of the world and how often people are at war, it is easy to judge and say that people cannot live in peace. We might say that the world is heading in the right direction, but we still have issues to deal with. war between countries is one of the most common wars, mainly caused by political issues. The war between Ukraine and Russia is an example of a political war between countries. Many innocent people have lost their lives in a war where some do not involve them. The political decisions made by certain people have led to their loss. It is very sad to see such images. Some of us might not have experienced war, but we can relate to the pain that people at war experience.

From a psychological point of view, war brings people together. When countries, communities, or certain groups go to war, each group has its supporters that come together to fight. They become soldiers of the war. Ukraine is smaller than Russia, but the war has united the citizens, and they have supported their soldiers daily. Other countries have also united to show support for Ukraine. We have other countries that have internal wars with terrorists, which makes me question people's humanity.

Some might say that war makes people feel alive and breaks the monotony of life. Maybe this is why people find it challenging to live in peace. Maybe this is why conflicts never end. Maybe people get bored by living in peace and choose to spice things up by causing war and violence. I mean, why do terrorists choose to be terrorists? Some might say it's an act of revenge, greed, or other reasons, but war should not be the everyday life of a human being. Such people support the idea that war makes people feel awake, and being a peace does not give them the adrenaline to keep going.

People turn to war to acquire these statuses in the quest to add wealth, power, or status. At times results of certain issues go against people's expectations, and therefore they opt to go to war rather than accept the outcomes. Things do not always have to go our way. In competitions, there must be a winner; not all competitors become winners. Taking the last United States elections, some voters decided to storm the Capital because they did not agree with the results. I mean, voters can use other proper channels to express their views, not war.

Over the years, philosophers have studied the act of war and aspects relating to war and provided their findings. Some results point out that the sense of belonging or identity causes war. Ideally, we have different groupings, including ethnicity, race, religion, and country used to identify people. The pride of being identified with a certain group is part of the factors contributing to war. Some people believe that their religion is right, and when they debate with others, the conflict causes war. We are born different, and each person has their background. To have peace, we should respect each person and their beliefs. So long as they do not affect our lives, there should not be an issue.

In our world, the moment someone identifies with a particular religion, ethnicity, or country, they are judged based on certain issues associated with that group. These are some of the issues that contribute to the endless war. We must end these stereotypes and embrace each person without judging them by their associated groups. No one ever thought that the U.S. could have a black president, but it happened. Despite the differences in opinion, it happened, and he was a great president. Therefore, if people could come together and unite, this could help end war and have a peaceful life. The advancement of technology has helped significantly in dealing with war. Terrorist activities have decreased since internal security uses advanced technology to flag these activities before they happen. For peace enhancement, peacekeeping troops perform that duty.

Sometimes I wonder why people are so possessive. Love brings people together, and that is how it should be. But at other times, couples have conflicts and are at war. Some of these wars lead to the court others result in a physical war, which can have negative outcomes. Sometimes people are at war and do not realize since they are in a cold war. The tension between them builds up, and their interactions change. Cold war builds too much tension that the involved groups are always ready for anything. The Soviet Union and the United States of America had the first cold war in 1947. The geopolitical tension between the U.S. and Russia exists to date. I pointed out that war is passed on from generation to generation due to the political issues associated with these nations.

It is funny how far we have come as nations but still faces the same challenges as our ancestors. By now, certain issues, such as race, should not be an issue, but we still have them. We will promote peace when we address these issues. However, as long as people keep fighting for power and wealth, war will continue to exist, and more lives will be lost. We forget that war is a bad phenomenon. War has been normalized by how long it has existed.
